Luxury Chalets
Don't forget we are fast approaching the new ski season, yes I know its still summer, but things don't hang around here in Verbier and many chalets are already booked for Christmas and the New Year. Luxury chalets are always popular as the well heeled and affluent flock to our stunning town for arguably some of Europe's best skiing, and even better nightlife. At the moment the New Year ski weeks appear particularly popular as does the ski half term week as family ski groups look to take the family skiing in some of Verbier's great luxury, but nevertheless friendly family chalets. So get your skates on, the snow will soon be falling!

Family Chalet
There are some really great family chalets in Verbier, but this week we wanted to cover Chamonix where one of our good friends run probably the best family chalet your find in that Valley. Six bedrooms, and importantly a full sized pool table(!), plus cinema, a hot tub, and a children's entertainer make this the family chalet in our book. Good luck to them for next season which we are told is already selling well.

Skiing New Years Eve
Verbier has to be one of the best resorts to ski New Year and celebrate New Years Eve. And now a new site will launch shortly called New Year Ski which will bring you the latest chalets and availability for one of your favourite weeks in the ski season calendar. Good luck to them, but just make sure you choose Verbier, one of the best ski resorts in the world, and unlike the Danish beer, there's no 'probably' about it!

Gay Ski Holidays
The pink pound is something probably not to be ignored and Pink Ski look set to plug the gap in the market with a dedicated gay ski site for gay and lesbian skiers. Certainly in Verbier we are pleased to believe that homophobia is not an issue and if a site can get the message across, it will have our backing.

Family Chalet
If you are looking for great family chalet, Verbier has an abundance of good quality family chalets to consider. But when selecting a family chalet, just check whether what they are offering really makes them a family chalet, rather than just a 'chalet'. So if they are a true family chalet what extra services and facilities do you get:
- A dedicated childcare assistant / or entertainer
- A collection and drop off service for the children
- Children's entertainment
- A games room, children's games, toys, etc
- Close to the slopes is also beneficial
On the latter, most chalets are close to the slopes but ski in ski out chalets are virtually non existent so you may want to just check how far the chalet is from the slopes and whether they offer a driver service, and if yes to the latter, at what times.

Catered Chalet
A ski holiday in Verbier isn't just about the skiing as it houses some fantastic ski chalets too. So if you are looking for a luxury ski resort, and a great catered chalet too, Verbier has plenty of options.
But if you are looking for a catered chalet, intermediates and experts should look for chalets close to the Medran lift. Alternatively, beginners and families with young children looking for a great family chalet might want to check out chalets around the Savoleyres area

Ski Verbier
One of the the stand out company's for great Ski Chalets Verbier is Discover Verbier. Operating since well before the Millennium, they have steadily built a growing, high quality catered chalets for the discerning client, who also wants outstanding value for money, and service that matches the outstanding, rather than the price.
But despite their growth, having booked Chalet Alp at Christmas, did I get the same personal, caring service from the owner that I received when I stayed at Eperon six or seven years earlier, amazingly yes!

Easter Skiing
If you have just got back from an Easter ski weekend, I guess you may have a very large smile on one's face! Bright blue skies and some of the best snow of the season. Each year the Easter ski break gets more popular and this season the trend, partially fueled I guess by the the fantastic snow (although when hasn't it been at Easter) so anyone looking for a Easter ski deal would have been disappointed as rather than prices coming down, anything left available was cashing in due to the high demand and only limited supply.
So if you are looking for a great Easter ski deals, the best one's are the early bookings, not the late one's!

If you are looking at a fantastic getaway, ski in ski out Verbier 4 Vallees chalet for Christmas, Chalet Auriane in Tzoumaz (Verbier) is a great family chalet for that special 4 Vallees Verbier Christmas ski break. A spacious chalet that can accommodate up to 8 adults and 4 children.
Chalet Verbier
The great factor regarding Verbier, putting to one side its fantastic skiing, the number of sunny days it benefits from, and the fantastic apres-ski, is the fact that this luxury ski resort, and maybe this is the Swiss influence, doesn't suffer from high rise monstrosities like so many other resorts.
In Verbier, chalets dominate and that is all you will see. Crafted in stone and wood there isn't a council house tower block to be seen!!

Ski Half Term
Verbier is always a popular luxury ski resort and even more so in the ski New Year and ski half term holiday weeks. Good family chalets are therefore the first to go so family ski groups looking for high quality Verbier chalet accommodation should not hang around, as there won't be any deals for this popular week!
A chalet Verbier is an ideal way to spend a great family ski half term as Verbier has great skiing for all abilities. At Savoleyres this is the ideal nursery slope for younger family ski members and beginners, and then on the sunny slopes above the nursery area there are great runs for improving beginners and early intermediates. The slopes at Attelas take the family skiing up a notch or two, and then there is Mont Fort and Tortin for the really adventurous family ski members.

Family Ski
Today was for us a family ski day so we took our younger one's out on the slopes in beautiful sunshine. Living in the mountains they are both competent skiers at 5 and 7 and happy on most terrain. The youngest is very much a 'boy' and into speed and jumps, the oldest more into the bumps and 'light' off-piste! But this is one of the great things about a Verbier family ski holiday, it has something for everyone, whatever your preference.
So with somewhat different styles and preferences any other resort might have resulted in one family ski member being disappointed, but not in Verbier. First stop La Chaux for the snow park to practice some jumps, all family ski ages after all love taking air, and then there is snow cross run for the competitive father and five year old (and yes the former did struggle to keep up). Mean while the oldest was happy with the jumps and cross before popping in between the runs to practice some bumps, before we headed across to the Attelas area and underneath Mont Gele. Here you can ski within easy reach of the piste, yet some of the best moguls your find in Europe, before headig home to a great Verbier Chalet with a very tired but great family ski party!

Ski Verbier
There are two things I love about skiing in Verbier, the first is the amount of blue sky days Verbier has compared to other resorts, and secondly, that the best skiing is easily accessible and you don't have to dress like Rambo and go ski touring for miles just to enjoy it!
In terms of intermediates, the Attelas and surrounding slopes are awesome, and there are always the moguls to the side if you want to challenge one's self that little bit more (at your own risk of course). But for advanced skiers it gets even better. If you really want to be challenged in Verbier you have limitless potential, Mont Gele, or off-piste the back of Mont Fort (with a guide of course), we could go on, but for myself personally, nothing quite beats Tortin. Verbier's Tortin many moons ago was a black run but now is marked in yellow as an off-piste itinerary run. There are two entrants into it, but I think the best route for scenery, the varied skiing, and challenge is from the Mont Fort side. In fact, if you are a competent skier, I would suggest you start at the top of Mont Fort with the moguls, take a right at the bottom, and then ski all the way down to the bottom. Most advanced intermediates will be comfortable on Tortin, provided the snow is good, but if in doubt, and as it is an itinerary route, don't take chances as sections whilst not horrendous, are nevertheless steep.

Ski Christmas
It might seem a little strange talking about Christmas when it has just turned spring, after all even John Lewis and Debenhams haven't started playing Christms carols quite yet, but if you are looking to book a Christmas ski chalet, now is the time to make the decision. Verbier is popular any time as I'm sure you know, but never more so the ski Christmas and New Year ski weeks.
So if you are considering a chalet in Verbier for Chistmas, the earlier you book, the more chance you have of avoiding the 'Turkey Leftovers'!!

Ski New Year
If you have considered in recent years to book the next New Year, a ski holiday, now is the time to make it happen. Verbier is always a popular resort at any point in the season, least of all the New Year ski holiday week. A bustling town with a fantastic, and well deserved, reputation for its apres-ski, the New years Eve celebration is therefore something to behold. Friendly, trendy, sophisticated, and fun, all rolled into one.
For that very special New Year ski holiday, don't put it off another year, make the break and book it today, before someone else will.

Luxury Catered Chalets Verbier
Verbier is without doubt on of the most popular ski destinations in Europe and the discerning skier, and chalet guests are well catered for. Whilst some people consider Verbier to be an expensive place for chalet holidays, this doesn't have to be the case if you look carefully or just want to ski the network without having to stop in the town.
If it is the ski network that interests you, Ski In Ski Out offer a great luxury catered chalet in Tzoumaz which is a fraction of the price of equivalent chalets in Verbier town itself, or if Verbier is your preference, Discover Verbier chalets have to be some of the best value in most resorts, least of all in Verbier itself. Discover Verbier have been operating for around a decade now and grown to become one of the larger operators, whilst retaining that personal touch, courtesy of Sarah who works tirelessly to ensure clients get the same service, if not better, then when they were a single independent chalet operator.

Ski Half Term Verbier
Being the half term ski week, I hope you will forgive us for making this a short and very quick With it being half term here in Verbier, any catered or luxury catered chalet in Verbier seems to be full. The slopes are busy but having one of the best and most modern ski networks, ski Half Term visits stopping in chalets across Verbier, seem to be having a wonderful family ski holiday.
In terms of family ski holidays, Verbier is a great choice with nearly all chalets Verbier within a short walk from the main lift stations. Such ease of access makes Verbier a very popular family ski destination, least of all during the ski half term break.

Ski Verbier
Welcome to the first of many Chalet Verbier blogs. One of the great European ski destinations, Verbier offers great skiing in the Four Valleys up to 3,330m (Mont Fort). In the Four Valleys there are 35 Blue, 55 Red, and 10 Black runs.
Whilst it rightly is a mecca for advanced skiers, there is great ski area for beginners and young family ski members in the Savoleyres area with a travelator and drag lift. Intermediates will find that to ski Verbier, they really do have to push themselves, but this is part of its attraction, no more posing, well not until the apres ski, just hard, fun skiing that will leave you with a satisfied grin at the end of the week. And with 412km of pistes, anyone who claims to be bored at the end of the week does need shooting!
In terms of one of the myths that still gets spouted regarding skiing Verbier, great resort, but its a shame about the lift queues! Yes there was an issue 10 years ago, but the new Gondola to Mont Gele and the La Chaux Gondola / Chair (its true - it is a gondola and a chair lift all in one) have long since eradicated the problems.
Off the slopes, Verbier is situated at 1,550m and all the chalets Verbier are typically Swiss - pretty and clad beautiffully in wood, making this a very beautiful ski town. There are many restaurants and bars and its reputation for partying is nearly as legendary as its skiing!
Whilst Verbier isn't cheap, it is one of the resorts to be seen in and ski! We'll continue to tell you why and feature some of the best catered chalets and luxury catered chalets on offer so please keep popping back to the Chalet Verbier blog.
